Sunny Day Hotel & Apartments Sunny Beach Bulgaria

Not to be confused with Sunny Days 1,2 etc!

Just returned from 2 week stay at the Sunny Day Hotel %26amp; Apartments. Generally the service was good, breakfast repetitive but edible, staff mostly friendly, though some very limited in their English. Loction to beaches, shops, restaurants good. Rooms serviced every day, towels change every third day. The local bus service fantastic! Bus stop outside the hotel, bused run every regularly every 20 minutes, for 1 lev (40p) will take you to Nessebar, (a good restaurant to try overlooking the harbour is Romantika, good food %26amp; service). Bus will also take you to market square (same price!) where you will fing Djannys fantastis restaurant as per other postings. Most toilets are payable (50 stinks,20p) but are generally clean and as this is how the lady taking the money earns her living it was no problem. According to my husband the local lager was very good and at 3levs he sampled a few!

Restaurants in Sunny Beach generally good, but like most places some considerably better than others and we tried quite a few.

That%26#39;s the positive bit - We were a party of 8 adults aged 49 - 60. One friend unfortunately forgot to lock her bedroom door one night and had her bag stolen containing purse, camera, video camera, mobile, management not intersted, rep not too bothered either!

10 days into our holiday a group of 150 Russians turned up, consisting of approximately 100 chidren and the rest carers (chess club apaprently) staying for 1 month. Although generally well behaved they totally took over the poola area,we retreated to the beach 10 minutes away and 18 lev for 2 sunbeds + 1 sunshade. They were followed 2 days later by a group of Swedish 18 - 22 year olds, who on coming in at 4am decided it was fun to jump in the pool and generally be very loud and waking people up. Luckily this was our last night but sympathise with newcomers expecting a quiet break!

BEWARE - during walks along the front of the lads on the %26#39;rickshaw%26#39; bikes, they will try to rip you off, charging 50lev (£20) no matter of distance, threatening to call police, boss, who %26#39;apparently will bring men%26#39; if you don%26#39;t pay. If you are daft enough to use them (as we were!) call their bluff, pay them a fair price and walk away.

Generally if you are looking for culture and refinement don%26#39;t go to Sunny Beach, if you want sun (well most of the time), cheap %26#39;designer%26#39;goods and a fairly cheap holiday go for it. Personally I won%26#39;t be rushing back, but that%26#39;s personal choice.
