Just thought I%26#39;d mention this company. From my experience I would avoid them for car hire. We hired a car from them last year....it was scratched, the Gear knob came off in your hand, air conditioning didn%26#39;t work and the brakes were dangerous.
The car was due to be returned and picked up from our hotel at 11.00am but they turned up at 8am!! Needless to say I refused to hand over the keys and documents until the agreed time.
They advertise around the resort in the travel,information places and have an office in Sunny Beach in the street leading up from the beach, between the Hotel Pomorie and Europa.
AVOID THEM.

Best we%26#39;ve used were immobilien.bg. Their office is in Nessebar but the information office near the Post Office in the centre of SB are agents. There are now numerous car hire companies in the resort so shop around, just avoid O%26#39;K carhire as previously mentioned.
I have been advised not to book in advance from UK or you may not see them. If all their cars are booked in resort they will just close the office.
You ask for suggestions of where to visit...that depends whether you want to do day trips or go further afield.

We would be interested in day trips. How do you find driving on the roads with the language barrier, e.g reading sign posts.

Road conditions in BG have improved greatly in the last few years. All along the coast you should have no problems with road and direction signs but inland a great deal of the signs are in the cyrilic alphabet.
Bourgas and Varna are ideal for the day or south of Bourgas to Sozopol. There is a market every Thursday in Kableskovo, a village between SB and Bougas. North of Varna, its possible to visit Golden Sands but if you want to venture a bit further north, Balchik is beautiful.
Im a driving instructor and the only place Im not too happy about is Varna. There is a distinct lack of signs there.

Try www.rentacarmm.bg THEY ARE OFFERING ONLY NEW CARS MANUFACTURED 2007 2008. I think they have season offices in Varna and Bourgas. Ask for a DISCOUNT
