My wife and I are travelling from Sofia to Plovdiv by rail in July. Our flight gets us in to Sofia very late and we plan to move on the following morning. Is it best to book train tickets in advance or can one turn up and easily catch a train? Any other advice on travelling by rail in Bulgaria would also be greatly appreciated.
