hi, we are going to st vlas next week, and are just wondering what sort of food is the bugarian tradition? I am a pretty plain eater, so hope there is plenty of %26#39;ordinary%26#39; choice, but hubby likes to try different foods. Also, do they do plain grilled chichen, chips etc, cos if not, 16 year old will come back starving!
one more thing, is basic groceries in supermarkets cheap to buy eg bottles of water, cheese, bread?
Thanks

Basic foodstuffs is a lot cheaper in Bulgaria than at home. Supermarkets stock a good supply of items so you won%26#39;t have to worry.
Plain roast chicken can be had all over the place and can be seen on the spits.
Here is some info on Bulgarian dishes, my own favourite being Kavarma, a stew of meat or chicken, beautiful.

Thanks for that. we are looking forward to having a holiday somewhere different, and are just hoping, after reading the negative comments about Sunny Beach, that we have made the right choice, and will be safe in st Vlas.

St.Vlas is a world apart from SB. Quiet, tranquil and relaxing.
Best of both worlds would be shopping, drinks in the early evening in SB then a bus/taxi back and a wind down evening having a cocktail or pint near the marina or in the square back at base.

That sounds just the job!! Is SB relatively safe and ok through the day? Would you say the comments posted here are relating to night time?

SB is fine during the day, wherever you go.
