Hi all just dropping you all a message to ask about sunny beach,we are flying out on the 11 july,3 adults and 4 kids between 8 and 14 and staying in the riu evrika, been reading some very scary stories about muggings and rip of mearchants, just wondering how safe is the area that we are staying at,i want to relax and enjoy ourselves, not be worried about getting robbed or pickpocketed by some scrote, how near is the money exchange our hotel, are there any nice cheap restraunts for food and drink, mainly drink as all inclusive, any good night time entertainment nearby,as dont want to get ripped of by some mafia linked taxi driver, any info on the nearby reigion would be most helpfull, getting very excited about going, but a bit of worry in the back of my mind.
Thanks in advance to any info, toonman your info so far has been priceless.
many regard chris.

The Rui is well away from the area used by the %26quot;working girls%26quot; which is Hotel Kuban area.
Beside you is a good restaurant /bar called Arizona which has live band on in evenings. You also have next door to it Scandals a cocktail bar .
Remember , drinking in beachside bars is a lot more dearer than if you go further back.
For me the best restaurant in SB is Djanny%26#39;s, further along the main road from the Rui in the market area. Cheap, quality food and drink. Excellent reports this year on Fara also on main road( easily recognised as it has a lighthouse on top )
Don%26#39;t go for the rickshaw taxi rides, rip off merchants.

We are in Sunny Beach for first time at present. Myself and 13 year old daughter. Don%26#39;t know what all the fuss was about on this site - had be terrified of arriving here. Seen one %26#39;lady of the night%26#39; in the last two weeks - no one has harrassed us and actually we feel much safer here than at home (Dublin)- so you really do not have anything to worry about. I will be posting a %26#39;Top Tips/Do%26#39;s and Donts%26#39; on the site when I arrive back in Dublin Tuesday. :)

Just got back from 2 weeks at this hotel on 28th june didn%26#39;t see/hear of any bother, theres a money exchange in the hotel but i didn%26#39;t use it i used the crown exchange(far better rate) and its a minute from the front door of the hotel.Theres plenty of bars/restaurants around but as a/i i didn%26#39;t use them the main drag/promenade is right outside the hotel and its full of cheap fake designer stalls/shops. I would recommend both the bulgarian and asian restaurants in the hotel the best seat in the house is the outside tables at the asian you can sit and watch the world go by(and listen to the live band at the arizona restaurant thats next door to the hotel)the one thing that i wasn%26#39;t keen on was that theres loads of mopeds and golf buggys for hire on the promenade and it can be abit like wacky races. If your going to go to the water park go to the one in sunny beach (action park) if the kids are over 1.3meters tall they%26#39;ll get on all the rides and if you go after 3pm its half price giving you 3 hours to do the park is more than enough. The hotel was spot on no bother with food, rooms animation team work hard to get you involved hope this helps russell.
