Hi - we use our nationwide card no problems. Just make sure you have another card as back up and a few quid in the safe in case anything happens to the Nationwide one. Personally I wouldn%26#39;t dream of taking all my money in cash because I think my insurance only covers me up to £250 or so.

Hi Nozzer, There is no problem with the ATM%26#39;s. In English, and majority are attached in or next to banks. ( 3 opposite the Hotel Kuban ) armed guard at doorway.
You are limited to 400 lev a day for withdrawls, which is ample , so you won%26#39;t have fortunes on you.
Tend to use them early in the day ( 9.30-10.00am ) before masses of people about and just keep everything in the hotel safety deposit boxes/safes when not in use.
Another good thing is you don%26#39;t have to take your passport out with you.
What hotel are you staying in? May be able to advise of nearest ATM.

is there an atm near marvel hotel, also is it 20kg with hand luggage or without hand luggage flyin with balkan thanx.

Whenever I%26#39;ve flown with Balkan it was 20kg%26#39;s plus 5kg hand luggage.
Mind you most airlines now are getting up to all sorts of tricks. Thomas Cook now has reduced it%26#39;s luggage allowance to 15kg and we%26#39;ve had to pay an extra £15 each to get it up to 20kg.

Can%26#39;t recall an ATM near to the Marvel, but there could well have been some additions installed this year. Perhaps someone just returning could assist.
There is definitely one one the main road in the bank next to police station.
See map attached.
The Marvel is no. 188 bank is to the left.
