Our stay at the above hotel in Sunny Beach Resort of Bulgaria was a real eye-opener. It was very dreary %26amp; old fashioned, carpetted throughout with manky, threadbare, smelly carpet which was rolled up the walls to resemble skirting boards. We were on the 5th floor and as there was no lifts this was a problem as no helped my disabled partner with the luggage. The constant flights of grubby stairs which weren%26#39;t lit up and the corridor lights were never on. Our room was very small, battered broken cupboards, 2 beds toe to toe, 2 very unsuitable plug sockets,an old door to the balcony which was locked by a bent nail! also the door handle fell off on opening. The Reception Staff were very unhelpful and miserable and couldn%26#39;t or wouldn%26#39;t understand English. The swimming pool was a green colour, no fiters were working and had a big dirty tide mark around the edge!. There was also a charge for broken sunbeds with their ripped blue covers to sit around the pool - we didn%26#39;t bother. We felt the wholde place was bodged together and painted over with emulsion.
This is our third visit to this lovely place and we were surrounded by other good hotels - just so disappointed at the HOLE we ended up in.

Sorry you were disappointed with your Hotel.I have not visited this Hotel even though I%26#39;ve been to Sunny Beach twice a year for the past 10 years. It appears that the Karlova is 2star and your description sounds like the other remaining 2 star hotels in the resort. It is advisable that you always make sure that the accommodation you book is minimum 3 star.

We have stayed at the Pomorie and the Morska Hotels and had no problems. It was bad enough that the hotel was poor but the Staff were so miserable and unhelpful not as you%26#39;d expect from the Bulgarian people as we have always found them lovely and they go out of their way to be helpful. The position was good of the hotel but that was the only plus I can give it. When we go back next year will give that one a miss!

I believe both the Morska and Pomorie are 3star hotels and as mentioned the difference between 2 star and 3 star in Bulgaria is amazing.
The Karlova sounds so bad, think I%26#39;d be miserable too, if I had to work there for 6 months.
