cost of living

What are the prices like for meals and cold and hot drinks including beer and cocktails in Sunny beach in late June and early July? We are planning to go there for 2 weeks next year. Thanks

Prices are high for locals, but not fore tourists.

Stay away from Bulgaria; it is a country of BAD news.

Difficult to say what the prices will be next year as Bulgaria gets more into line with the EU.

This year a pint of beer can cost as little as 35p a pint in some places and up to £1.50 in beach bars/clubs. Cocktails are about £2 but are usually 2 for 1.

Meals are the same, McDonalds is expensive yet go to say Djanny%26#39;s ,Fara etc and you can have a meal with drinks for under a £10. A kebab is about £2, full pizza about £3.

Just remember, the further away from the beach the cheaper the prices on anything.

As for Bulgaria being BAD news. I%26#39;ve been going for a number of years on holiday and haven%26#39;t been troubled one bit. Ive seen more trouble on local council estates than anything in Bulgaria.

The majority of people are warm and friendly, just treat them with respect and remember they are a poor country compared to the UK work hard for their money.

You will get the odd incident, as you will in any holiday destination, but it%26#39;s all about being level headed .

Read through the pages and pages of advice on the forum and you should%26#39;nt have any problems whatsoever, provided you adhere to the advice.
