when i left on monday, most of the crown change booths were offering 2.34 for english sterling travellers cheques. you can get slightly more if you have fresh notes, be careful where you change your money. use the bank or crown change outlets

The rates today at the Raiffeisen Bank is 2.44 and the Bulbank is 2.42 ( both in SB )

Hi, we%26#39;re going for a week in September. Do you get a better rate by changing money over there, rather than taking it with you?

Thanks

You definitely get a better rate in the banks over there. Do not take traveller cheques )

At home between 2.20 to 2.30 lev, in the resort 2.35 to 2.45. ( with a Nationwide flex account card you get approx 2.50 )

Excellent - thanks Toon Man.

On another note, we%26#39;re staying at a privately owned apartment in the Coloseum (?) complex - any info etc much appreciated, especially in relation to location in resort etc!

Cheers

Hi,

Just flew in from sunny beach last night after 3 weeks, brilliant holiday. No issues as long as you apply the same common sense you would at home. The exchange rates for sterling at the crown exchange 2.36 per pound , 1.91 per euro. Only use the crown exchange on the strip. The best value was using the atm which was 200 lev for 102.26 euro. This is brilliant if your bank does not have a service charge for withdrawls. Check before you go.

Hope this helps.

The Colosseum is very centrally located for all the amenities.

Virtually on the beach and about 5-10 min walk to the resort centre.

Click on the map link. You are number 70 and the resort centre is number 105 ( Hotel Kuban )
