safety deposit box

in your hotel if you purchase a safety box would it be okay if i put all my holiday money, passport, ticket in there as i have the fear that the hotel staff might open it up with a seperate key and take some of the money cheers

|||

Hi

Don,t know what hotel your in.

But on arrival we hired a box and put money ect and just took out a daily amount

The hotel rect staff open it with one key and then you use yours this was for safety

We found no problems

They asked for our passports at start and I left them with them and picked them up at checkout.

Most hotels have security boxes in the reception area. You need 2 keys to open them, one held at reception and the 2nd one you have.

We have never had a problem in keeping all our valuables in there, including passports. ( I do not advise leaving your passport with reception staff in case it goes missing.) You can normally pick it up 24 hours after registering.

Time share scam in airport

Writing to warn people of time share scam that is happening in the departure lounge at Bourgas airport. We were asked to take part in a survey about our holiday and had the possibility of winning holiday and as it was in the departure lounge were caught off guard.

They ask for a phone number to let you know if you win and give you a slip of paper.

We have been back 2 weeks and now getting pestered with calls up to three times a day. When we googled the phone number it is a time share scam and there are a lot of people who have wrote complaining about them, they are very persistent and very aggressive. They say you have won the holiday but there are lots of restictions and money to pay out. So BEWARE of them they also target shopping centes.

Can give you the link to web site.

Thanks for the tip Chris. It%26#39;s a new one on me but I shouldn%26#39;t be surprised. They are obviously moving on from Spain etc.

back this morning....

just back this morning.we stopped at the majestic which was a nice hotel, very nice and clean rooms were excellent nice and big.the food was shocking all the meat dishes werent cooked properly.the chicken was pink how bad is that.....nothin for kids to do,to old for kids club.games room what a laugh air hockey and electronic darts none worked for two weeks we were there. three pool tables which cost 5lvs a game.people say you cant spend your money the prices are nearly same as at home.at night its just like ground hog day very boring.once youve walked the promenade a few nights called in some bars and get pestered to death by shop keepers and bar owners you start to get fed up.one week is enough two week to much.BE CAREFULL AT NIGHT...stay away from the push bike taxis they tell you 15lvs when you get out they say 50levs each.just keep well clear.another thing is watch your bags and shopping we were at a stall buying some t shirts we paid for them ,then left,we just set off walking down the promenade when two teenage youths tried snatchin our daughters bags. please just be carefull at night .also all the bulgarian young men are real perverts, are daughter is 13 and there not bothered that there with there parents, every one just keep your wits about you ,its not a nice place....

Sorry to hear your holiday wasn%26#39;t fully up to expectations.

Hotel food in Bulgaria is quite poor which is why we go B%26amp;B if possible. ( The only exception to this rule is when we go to the Iberostar, where the food was excellent ). NEVER go AI either.

Unfortunately, whichever holiday destination you go to someone is trying to get you into their restaurant or bar, they are all vying for the same market to make a living, but we%26#39;ve always found a polite %26quot; maybe tomorrow %26quot; always sufficed.

Even Djanny%26#39;s which is always packed has someone outside. Its no worse than Tenerife, etc.

Hopefully members on the forum will heed yours and others advice on these %26quot;rickshaw taxis %26quot;. They are a complete rip off and the sooner some of them are found hurt and bleeding the better, it might teach them a lesson.

Back Monday night!

I have to say all good. Stayed at the Laguna Park

4star b%26amp;b

Breakfast was nice cooked egg ect fruits pancakes

the staff in the am could not be more helpful, rooms big and an enclosed shower yeha!

Pool sunbeds no prob the 1st week wk2 had to go down early one day and put out towels(if you can,t beet them)

We loved Djanny%26#39;s for food - The Condor cheap! Cocktails next door to there is a must lovely.

But a tip is Hotel Mercury 5star (if your fed up in the same place) we used to eat there and use the pool free. Deep for a swim and spacious.

If you like draught cider Shakeys do it 5 50 levs a pint.

I personally did%26#39;nt like the Corner Bar tvs/the karoke one. I had went up to ask when the possibility of (2 teens turn was) and I foung the guy with the ponytail offensive he asked me if I thought he was handicapped? I work with children with additional needs-enough said- anyway cocktails very poor avoid at all costs..

Do yoi know these apartments?

Thanks

Hi Shelbelle, Firstly the money shouldn%26#39;t be a problem.

The Green fort apartments are at the end of Sunny Beach towards St.Vlas so you are a bus ride from the centre ( only 1 lev ) You are well away from the hustle of the centre so you will have a peaceful, relaxing holiday. I reckon by walking along the sea front it%26#39;s about 30 mins to the centre of Sunny Beach.( St. Vlas in opposite direction.)

On the maps I have the complex doesn%26#39;t show up with it only being built in the last couple of years.

Some info here.

Many thanks for that. One question, what time does the buses stop running at night?

I hope we have a great time, I am sure we will.

Thanks

If my memory serves me right they run up until about 11.30 pm ( ish ). Someone staying in St.Vlas may be able to assist more.

Taxi should be about 20 Lev ( ask before getting in )

I%26#39;m sure I%26#39;ve seen it on sale. To be on the safe side why not put a plastic bottle of it in your case and take it with you.
